The Untamed Bhandavgarh in Bhandavgarh National Park.

with The Ultimate Traveling Camp

From Pie:

I picked this camp because it has similar aesthetics, philosophy, quality of guides, and service level as the camps I work with in Africa and it's located in one of the most incredible forests in India, Bhandavgarh National Park. It's operated by the same company I run my Ladakh Expeditions and Kumbh Mela Expeditions with, The Ultimate Traveling Camp. It is very calm and quite camp in the middle of the forest, the opposite of Kumbh Mela. It's also near Allahabad where we will celebrate Kumbh Mela, so logistics are fairly easy.

It's the only camp in all of India, that really breathes an African look & feel, check the attachment of this email. It’s the only ‘tented’ camp in the Tiger Safari Industry in India, the tents are even made in Kenya! The park has the world’s highest density of Royal Bengal tigers, and some of the most incredible birdlife you will ever see in your life. On top, January, mid-winter, is an incredible season for photography as mornings can be foggy, misty and cold, it's magic in the forest.

After our Kumbh Mela expedition, on Jan 16, we will drive from our Kumbh Mela camp to the Tiger camp, which will take us 6 hours in a comfortable AC van.

- On arrival we comfortably check-into our jungle tents and relax the rest of the day resting from a buzzing Kumbh Mela experience and enjoying the fresh jungle air and sounds

- The next 3 days we will embark on 2 game drives per day (each AM and each PM) with our own private jeep, so 6 game drives in 3 days.

- Additionally, we have 1 night drive on any day of choice, making the total number of drives 7

- Its just the 4 of us + our guide in the jeep

- We will work with the head-guide meaning the best naturalist in camp :)

- All meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included, as well as 2 pieces of laundry per day

- During the day we will rest and enjoy the silence of the jungle

- Optional to visit local communities and villages which could be a great opportunity for photography too

- On the last morning of Jan 20, we will transfer to Jabalpur Airport and board our flight to Delhi, all included

- On arrival, we get transferred to the Leela Palace Hotel where we stay 1 night on the 20th, including breakfast on the 21st

- After check-out on Jan 21, everybody will proceed own travels

All connections will be seamless and we will be in the good hands of TUTC. They will not only host the entire Kumbh Mela Expedition, but also the Tiger Extension and all transfers.
