ABOUT
Each of us has a story — a catalysing moment that pushes us beyond the surface of life toward something more essential. Mine began in childhood, growing up across multiple countries before the age of eight — encountering different languages, belief systems, ways of suffering, and ways of joy. What struck me most wasn't the differences. It was the thread running beneath all of it: the same longing, in every culture, for something more essential than what the surface of life offers.
That thread became my life's inquiry. It took me through art — where creativity revealed how consciousness expresses itself — and through Chinese Medicine, where I discovered that the body holds its own ancient intelligence. Each path offered genuine wisdom. Yet each also pointed beyond itself, toward something I hadn't yet named.
It was through Vedic Meditation that I found what I had been circling: the most complete understanding of our innate potential for transformation. What had appeared as separate pursuits — art, healing, consciousness — were suddenly revealed as expressions of the same infinite source. Not three paths, but one.
I now teach from Brooklyn's Clinton Hill, bridging ancient wisdom with contemporary life — honoring each student's unique path toward wellbeing, clarity, and the joy of knowing themselves more fully.
What is in a Name?
Along my journey, my teacher gifted me the spiritual name Jānakī. You may see me as Su-Jung Lee, Su Jānakī Lee, or simply Su—all are welcome. Su from my Korean heritage, Jānakī from my Vedic path, woven together to reflect my evolution as a teacher.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
The most profound changes don't come from effort — they come from recognition.
True transformation begins when expanded consciousness becomes your everyday baseline, not a peak experience to chase. From that foundation, everything shifts: how you think, how you relate, how you move through the world.
From the wisdom of our śrī Guru Deva, Swami Brahmananda Saraswati
While countless paths lead to expanded consciousness, I chose Vedic Meditation because it offered something rare—profound transformation through effortless ease and natural joy.
This ancient technique doesn't demand struggle or sacrifice, but instead reveals the inherent bliss that is our birthright.
