Intro to Beginner’s Sanskrit for Vedic Meditators
with Camilla Baker & Su-Jung Lee
Please join us for an introductory session this January for Beginner’s Sanskrit for Vedic Meditators.
We will offer two dates for this Introduction to Sanskrit where you will learn about Sanskrit & how it can be learned, as well as learn about different ways in.
For a more systematic approach, we will offer a primer and help prepare you for formal studies, if this is your path.
For a more artistic and devotional approach, we will offer our Exploration of the Bhagavad Gita, a year-long course, in which we will create our own Gita, while we study and practice our Devanagari script.
If you would like to join us, send us your email.
We will send you an invitation link & we ask for $108 dakshina that may be credited towards your chosen course or any future course we offer.
We are thrilled to bring these new offerings to our beloved community!
No prior experience needed.
This will be fun and easy!
Much Love,
SJ
You will learn about Sanskrit and Devanagari script, as well as, different styles of transliteration used by scholars.
Perfect for people with a curiosity about Sanskrit and want to learn what is involved in learning how to read and write the Devanagari script, as well as, become familiar with most commonly used transliteration models, the Harvard Kyoto and IAST (Diacritics) for writing with your computer.
You will leave with a taste for the variations of text used to express Sanskrit and an understanding of the basic structure of the Devanagari alphabet and how you can begin feeling more comfortable with pronunciation, as well as, begin to recognize familiar terms from Vedic Meditation technique and philosophy.
We will open the door to reading & writing the script.
